This past weekend I hosted a Bridal Tea Party at my house. Three teas and an assortment of sweet and savory foods were made and served. In preparation for the tea I had only one complaint, purchasing brown sugar cubes. Believe it or not but brown sugar cubes are hard to find unless you pick them up at your favorite local tea spot, which then you would pay an outrageous amount for! I had to come up with an alternative, why not make my own sugar cubes? After a little internet research I found that it is quite easy to make your own sugar cubes. Here is a creative, simple and affordable way to still have brown sugar cubes at your next tea party without breaking the bank.
d.i.y. brown sugar cubes
These cubes will take 24 hours to dry / Makes: 30 cubes

Ingredients
1 cup light brown sugar
2 teaspoons water
candy or ice cube tray molds
Instructions
- In a medium size bowl place brown sugar, slowly add in the 2 teaspoons of water continually mixing the sugar so that it doesn’t melt on you.
- Once you have obtained a paste-like consistency go ahead and fill your candy or ice cube molds with the mixture and allow 24 hours to dry.
- Carefully extract the cubes from the molds and you are ready to use them! Simple, creative and enjoyable.

These were wonderful! (as i am sure you all can imagine, the whole shower was AMAZING) Another note is that they are easy for the guests to break apart if they don’t want a whole sugar cube in the tea!
